In my house, we try to make this chocolate cake. So I will show today how easy it was to make the cake. It was one of the easiest cakes I have prepared in a while.

Making chocolate cake requires the following ingredients.

  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Cocoa powder
  • Baking powder and soda.
  • Sufficient salt
  • Powder of espresso
  • Using buttermilk or almond milk.
  • Vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Eggs
  • Extract vanilla 
  • Water 

How to make Chocolate cake (Instructions)

Step 1 

Obtain an oven temperature of 350°F. Prepare two, 9-inch cake pans by spraying them with baking spray or butter and then lightly dusting them with flour.

Step 2 

At that time, you have to add the sugar, flour, baking powder, cocoa, baking soda, espresso powder and salt to a large mixing bowl. To fully combine the flour mixture, use a whisk or a paddle attachment with a whisk.

Step 3 

After that mixture , you have to mix with the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla slowly. Then you have to add hot water into the cake batter to properly combine.

Step 4 

After about 10 minutes of cooling, remove the pan and allow the food to cool completely. Decorate with chocolate butter icing. 

What is espresso powder ?

The addition of espresso powder to both the chocolate cake and the chocolate frosting to get better delicious. Moreover, it was one of the main key ingredients that brought this cake recipe to life.

You can use your making espresso powder, that will be great. However, I can assure you it’s worthwhile to save it only for chocolate baking.

How to Store the Homemade Chocolate Cake

You can make both the cake and chocolate frosting in advance. However, the cakes must be completely cooled before being well-wrapped in plastic wrap and layered in a gallon-sized zip-top freezer bag. Additionally, layers of the cake may freeze for up to one month.

Before icing, remove the cake from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator with the wrapper on. Moreover, frost the cake after it has completely defrosted.

The cake should be stored at room temperature on the counter. To maintain the cake’s freshness, I like to cover it with a cake dome.
